BLAME CANADA

Canada has always been a place ive been stinging to get too and it most certainly delivered. Calgary where i was based is a chilled mellow city, that has boomed from oil. The city has a cool laid back cowboy esque country feel to it and is surrounded by the renowned rocky mountains of Canada, the tourist attraction resort of Banff and the mesmerising Lake Louise.
The scenery around these parts is absolutely breathtaking, the kind of picturesque canadian environments that everyone imagines and let me tell you people, it most certainly lives up to the hype.
Banff itself is an amazing little town in the midsts of these mountains, packed full of expensive condos, retail shops, tourist traps and restaurants with a cool, chilled snow town vibe to it.
Ice Hockey is absolutely huge here, and seems to be a distinctive aspect of canadian life. The players seem to be delt some kind of ridiculous superstar status on a grand scale that is basically unseen in the australian sport scene. Even though its the middle of summer here i still got the chance to witness a local level game, packed full of ex NHL players shredding it up.

Throughout my stay i was lucky enough to tour the unique wilderness and city under
the wing of a few locals which was of huge advantage as my lack of knowledge about this area was extremely obvious and simply embarrassing upon arrival. However after a few hours of lectures in alex's car i was dropping canadian slang, "chirping" off my nut and smashing Tim Horton's double double coffees like no tomorrow. Throughout my time here i stayed in a mega palace in the north west of calgary with an old friend Alex Rabbitte and the owner of the pad Dusty, who just happened to be easily one of the nicest and most generous people I've ever met, on top of spending a night in a college town Leth bridge that many locals refer to as Leth Vegas for a cheeky blinder. all in all a week to remember.

Bronzer, The situation, theme parks, infamous yellow cabs and the city that never sleeps wait ahead of me tomorrow. xoxo

GOING GOING BACK BACK TO CALI CALI.

Stop 1- San Francisco

San fran interestingly has the highest capital of alcohol consumed in relation to its size in america, along with some seriously impressive architecture, street art, ghetto crackys, cool trendy bars, and a serious problem with homeless people. My trip here started off in quite an intense manner, being offered crack by a heavy human within an hour of being in the city. The funniest thing about this place is the stereotypes of america are 100% legit. My first impressions of this place were exemplified 10 times what i expected. Beggers on the streets with individualistic traits, ghetto guys in clothes that could only be described as XXXXXXXL, crack heads talking to themselves and screaming down the streets, contrasted to 60$ million mega mansions, thousands of range rovers and the thriving financial sector. The streets are packed with newly released SF flat brim caps and constant rap music being blasted from shops, even in a city like San fran that is considered the gay capital of the world.
As much as the contrast of a place like this is, san fran is a truly unique and amazing city. it is well designed, easy to navigate, cheap, trendy, vibrant and cultured. You can be slamming down alltime italian cuisine in north beach ( known as little italy), walk a block south and be consumed with disgustingly overpriced designer fashion, too a public housing district less then 500metres from the iconic Union Square were on saturday night a gang member was shot 16 times by a rival gang in drug related tension. ONLY IN AMERICA.
below are an array of photos from across the city. Polk street, the mission, union square, golden gate bridge, red wood forests, ocean beach, china town, Haight and Ashbury, Alcatraz the infamous penitentiary, pier 39 and the people i have been experiencing these things with. A group of swiss travellers, a couplaaaa canadians and a fellow Aussie ledge. NEXT STOP CANADAAAAA. xox

HARROOOOO FROM RUSSIA

Found these guys searching the endless source of fun that is the world wide web yesterday. They are russian and seem to be peaceful folk unlike their countries mafia. Their first album "Alps" is a seriously tight, slow paced vegtable like compilation perfect for a relaxing day at home.
Track 5, Wind in her hair, one of my favourites from the album, has been playing over and over from the lapppy today as i get my stuff together and begin the tedious process of packing.
Not only are Motorama a skilled act they dont seem to have a jewish bone in their bodies as their album is available for FREEEEE on their website. arrrr the joysss of the internet

While on the topic of Russian sensations, although being a worthless tennis player, Anna Kournikova (my childhood sweetheart ) was definitely good at being the hottest of hot chixx and for that i am grateful.
